Korres Japanese Rose Body Butter
Now for those of you who are familiar with my blog, it comes as no surprise I was excited to review this product as I am currently using only Korres body products. I am a huge fan of the Korres line and pretty much all the products they carry. Skincare, suncare, make-up and pharmaceutical products.. I use them all! I first discovered the brand aged 15, through their Guava Body Butter which with absolutely no exaggeration I can say I have re-purchased over 60 times in the last 8 years. I never am without a full sized one in my bathroom and a travel sized one by my bed. It is my Holy Grail body moisturiser!
Scent: On first smell, you get a burst of freshness and oriental rose.. but it is not floral scent.. you see, there is a subtle muskiness that mutes the floral notes making them very soft and powdery. Its quite warm for a fresh scent.. very comforting. After an hour or so it fades down even more but doesn't vanish. What I love is that the scent is so subtle you don't get any headache or irritation from it!!
Unlike most Korres moisturisers, this is definitely a feminine scent and not in the unisex category the way Yogurt & Guava are. If you are buying a feminine or older woman a gift.. definitely go for this scent I am surprised just how much I liked this scent! It is so subtle and light, it is hard to not like it even if you are not very feminine.
Texture: I find that the Korres Guava, Yogurt, Quince, Fig and Japanese Rose all are equally as moisturising and nourishing for skin.. its just a question of scent preference. The cream is thick so a little goes a long way. It sinks into skin.. takes a minute or two to fully absorb. It leaves dry patches almost instantly relieved and visually less ashy so it is great on elbows and knees. Even though the cream is rich it never leaves you greasy or with shiny looking skin. This means you don't have to stand naked, air drying in your bathroom before you can put your clothes on!
Body Friendly: As a child till my early teens, I had severe eczema on my upper arms. In Spring when my hay fever starts I am always paranoid it will make a reappearance as I do notice the area is slightly more pink. Despite my paranoia, the eczema never returns and the slight pinkness vanishes with a bit of extra moisturisation. The butters never inflame or irritate my sensitive skin.. in fact I'm convinced that they keep it more soothed. I had severe scarring left on the areas which has now almost entirely vanished.. I really do credit the Shea butter inside the Korres body moisturizers for helping me with that.
Stretch Marks: If you are pregnant or a teenager who is still growing.. you may want to consider getting the Korres body moisturizers. Not only will the shea butter help stimulate the area and help fade some of the more superficial marks.. it will keep your skin hydrated and elastic and prevent more from forming. I know that only laser treatment will fully remove existing marks but visually you can make a big difference with a little extra attention to the area. I fluctuate in weight and am prone to stretch marks in the breasts, upper thighs and love handle area. I haven't had any new ones in a loooong time as my skin is finally nourished and flexible enough to handle the changes.

Packaging: The packaging is hit and miss with many people. I personally love it. Perfect for travelling as it is virtually impossible to break it. Its very unlikely you could get it to leak! It is very hygienic as the pump disperses the product so you don't have to dirty the application nozzle or dip your fingers in anything. Because there is nothing to squeeze it never gets sticky.. you simply use one hand to pump out more products as you need it. Visually the pump is very simply designed yet stylish. Its something that a man would use and/or wouldn't mind being left out in the bathroom. Mr Gloss Goss uses the Guava and I have never heard him complain and trust me he can be a bit of a whinger when he wants to be.
My Thoughts on the Japanese Rose scent: I will always be a Guava girl.. but it was nice to try the Japanese Rose for a bit of a change.
The reason I like the Korres brand so much, is it is one of the few brands that successfully combines natural products with good quality. Of course they aren't 100% natural.. it is virtually impossible to be.. but I like the level they are at.The Japanese Rose Body Butter is 93.9% natural which is more than good enough to keep me happy! Korres is well known for thoroughly understanding the properties of the extracts they use and producing very soothing products. I have never once experienced an unfavourable reaction to anything of theirs.
Since my older brother was diagnosed with cancer late last year (he is now in remission) my entire family has decided to commit themselves to using more natural products. With the exception of make-up or when I am reviewing something.. I no longer use skincare, body care or suncare that is not Natural. In short, it is Korres and a brand called Neal's Yard all they way!
Other Korres things I love are the Watermelon Sunscreen Stick, Ginger & Vitamins Foundation, Monoi Bronzer and Juniper & Rum Shower Gel. Zuneta is the best online source of the brand.. and take it from me you really can't go wrong with Zuneta or Korres!

This sounds lovely - really great review! I'm a fan of the Korres range too but I've yet to try a body butter - they sound very tempting!
