  • Lanvin for H&M ¬ worth the hype?

    Posted on 23/11/2010 by zu.rafalat

    hmlanvin

The hype...the excitement...that  fabulous TV ad (the elder woman – our hero)…oh the painful wait throughout November. Over. At 8.05 we were unable to click to purchase! Ohhhh the envy of those photo tweets from the changing rooms (we were tucked in tight when the 4am queues started mind you) Oh well. As a girl who used to spend her days styling chunky Lanvin necklaces, butter soft leather bags, decadent swathes of jewel bright cocktail dresses….nothing can truly beat a high-end piece of LANVIN, can it?*

Screen shot 2010-11-15 at 1.12.37 PM

Lanvin is the greatest luxe-lust labels of our time, extravagant silhouettes marred against classic cuts, jewel-hued fabrics, adorned with ribbons, flowers and jewels that sound chaotic but appear to work seamlessly. Inspired by the hectic Parisian glamour of the show (think taffeta and tulle, leopard print tights, strings of pearls…and that slightly disturbing green lipstick) what would your Lanvin inspired beauty look like?

    Screen-shot-2010-11-02-at-14.52.59-510x377

    Oh if I had been able to purchase that stunning yellow cocktail dress I would create a strong, directional look with;

Skin Hourglass Veil Mineral primer and Hourglass Fluid Veil Foundation. Like silk on your skin, the combination of the VEIL primer and fluid makeup provides superb, long lasting coverage for a luminous complexion and flawless finish.

Eyes – Rouge Bunny Rouge Raven Glaze Lacquer Liner achieve a very expressive, wide eyelid line using the side of the brush; elongate the stroke up- and sideward to achieve a more cat-eye impression.

MascaraEdward Bess Pure Impact Mascara Work the brush into lashes for lavishly long lashes that impact against the structured liner. The smudge-proof formula is key for dancing the night away.

For extra glamourMister Mascara full lashes kit (The kit comes with mini tweezers, adhesive and full instructions so application couldn't be easier)

LipsFemme Rouge in Fever. A hot hot pink that compliments every skin tone and looks utterly stunning contrasted against yellow! Be confident and apply straight to lips minus a lip liner.

I would leave hair tousled and low-key, throw on my Alaia cut out heels, grab a jewelled Alexander McQueen clutch and be the belle of the Christmas ball. In my lanvin-inspired dreams!

*not at all seething with jealousy at those who managed the purchase the canary yellow dress. Nope, not at all.

  • BritishBeautyBlogger Awards 2010

    Posted on 18/11/2010 by sabi.siemicka

Here at Zuneta HQ we were delighted to hear about the very first BritishBeautyBlogger awards 2010. As you know, we value all our international bloggers for their unbiased reviews and opinions of skincare to make-up. We all value the same principle - products with exceptional formulas that do what they say on the tin. So, when BBB announced in a similar vein, the idea behind her awards, we waited expectedly to scroll down and see if any of our favourites had been nominated...

'Okay, so everyone is dishing out awards right now, so I thought I’d join the party with a few of my own. Everything here is stuff I use, love and would purchase over and over. I see literally hundreds of beauty products every year so picking one for each category was a really tough call (well, as you’ll see, in some cases it just couldn’t be done). And, with no advertisers to keep happy, no swanky dinner to attend and no, uh, actual real gongs, statues or prizes either (sorry about that!), you can be assured if a sunshiney BBB Winner Button is awarded, it is because the product stands on its own merit entirely. I haven’t added prices, stockists or links to purchase, because the way I see it is it’s my job to tell not sell.'

British Beauty Blog Award Winner LogooskiabbbOSKIA ¬ PERFECT CLEANSE won 'The Truly Clean Award' stating that 'It’s only if my skin gets super-dry that I turn to Oskia Perfect Cleanser, a liquid balm that cleans, softens and puts the life back into skin that feels a bit tight or dehydrated.'

    Bravo OSKIA!

We were also delighted to see that another one of our 'beauty kit essentials' won another award!

    seche

Seche Vite ¬ Quick Drying Top Coat won 'The Express Delivery' award,  BBB stated 'I’ve tried and tried to wean myself off Seche Vite but it’s just not happening. In my view, there just isn’t anything like it for drying your polish so you are good to go a couple of minutes later.'

    We can't argue with that!
